Plain gauges are used to check plain holes and plain shafts. Plain gauges won’t provide a actual measuring values of the inspected parts. They just can be used to judge the inspected parts are okey or not okey. Plain gauges include plain ring gauges and plain plug gauges. Both plain ring gages and plug gauges are composed by Go and NONO two parts.

Plain gauge is a kind of precision measuring tool. It is the simplest and most effective way of checking holses and shafts. gaugestools can produce kinds of plain gauges fully according to clients’ requirements.

Plain plug gauges are used to check holes, plain ring gauges are used to check shafts. Our plain gauges are made from bearing steel, GCR15, hardened tool steel ,hardness: 58-62 HRC. If clients need, we can provide long form calibration certificate from ISO17025 accredited calibration lab.

Plain gauges can only be screwed in by hand. It is not allowed to knock, give forced presure or use other auxiliary tool. Otherwise the testing results will be wrong, even the gauges will be damaged. When in use, a thin, easy-flowing oil layer can be applied to the gauge to reduce frictional resistance.

It should be placed isothermally with the workpiece to be tested before gauge’s using, so that the temperature of the two is balanced. Never use a gauge to inspect the workpiece that has just been machined at a high temperature. All our plain guages will be inspected strictly to 100% be sure gauges are right. and for in-use thread gauges, regular calibration is required. The calibration cycle depends on the frequency of use of the gauge and the speed of wear.
